Additions

March 20, 2014

A couple of weeks ago, another little Space NK parcel arrived on my doorstep. An irresistible pre-order of the Hourglass Ambient lighting blush quickly led to a few more lust-worthy items being added to my basket...oops.

The Oribe Dry Texturising Spray has been on my wish list for quite a while now. I've been a bit reluctant to part with the pennies for something that I wasn't sure would work for me, but after falling in love with Bumble and Bumbles Dry Spun Finish, I decided to give it a whirl. A few spritzes into the roots of my hair adds an amazing oomph of much needed volume and texture without looking or feeling at all gritty or sticky. I would definitely be willing to splurge on the bigger bottle once this little can is used up.

As soon as I heard about the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blushes I knew I wouldn't be able to resist - they are simply stunning. I chose Luminous Flush a pink toned coral with gold veining. The finish is so natural and radiant, it's quite different to anything else I've tried. I've also found this shade to have quite good pigmentation when built up.

The final item added to my basket had to be the Hourglass Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil. This is without a doubt my favorite brow pencil. The consistency is perfect - easily buildable for either a natural or defined brow and waxy enough to keep everything in place. The colour dark brunette is also the perfect match for me and the spoolie on the other end is a winner.

February Favourites

March 11, 2014

Seriously, where does time go?! It's almost mid March and I've only just made it round to combining my most loved products of February. At this rate I should start getting ready for Christmas now!

After squeezing out the last dollop of my Phyto Clarifying Detox Shampoo, I decided to give Bb's clarifying offering a go. This stuff is highly raved about in the beauty world and I can really see why. It washes away any build up of oil and chemicals that have accumulated throughout the week (yuk!) whilst leaving hair feeling soft and nourished. It's perfect for a Sunday afternoon detox - or any day really, I just can't help but use it on a Sunday because of its name...

February was the month the new Hourglass Blushes launched, and boy are they beauts. I have the shade Luminous Flush, a gorgeous pink toned coral with golden veining that is pigmented enough to inject a healthy rosy glow without looking too powdery or shimmery. Like most Hourglass products, the packaging is also divine. I'm not sure if I can resist adding another shade to my collection!

I'm really not much of a lip gloss girl. I just can't be doing with the whole sticky mess and 'hair stuck to your lips' thing. But upon hearing nothing but good things about this Maybelline gloss, I decided to give it a whirl (It was also 3 for 2 at Boots, the perfect enabler!) Let me start by saying that this is one of the best, non-sticky glosses I've ever used. Other than the slightly strange scent, I can't fault it. The shade Cashmere Rose, a nude pink, is also gorgeous and looks great worn both alone and over lipstick. If I thought I would use them I would run out and buy several more colours, but to be honest, one is probably enough for now!

I've fallen in love with white nail polish. Naturally, I have the Essie formula (obsessed much?!) but there are cheaper alternatives if you're still a bit unsure! I know some liken it to tippex, but I just love how clean and crisp it looks on the nails. This is definitely going to be one of my spring and summer staples.
