♡ Bumble and Bumble Thickening Dryspun Finish

October 30, 2013

When a product promising to inject a bit of miracle 'oompth' into flat hair emerges, it's a little difficult  for me to resist, even if that so called products leaves a large £21.50 hole in my purse. Bumble and Bumble's Thickening Dryspun Finish really delivers on volume - spritzed through the roots of my hair and fluffed up a bit it gives the illusion of fuller locks without leaving it feeling stiff or gritty. For a texturising/dry shampoo hybrid, I was delighted to discover that it doesn't leave my fine hair feeling dehydrated either, even with daily use. It's completely invisible too, even in dark hair, so there's no need to worry about a questionable white tinge.

Spritzing this into my hair on a daily basis has quickly become an essential step in creating the illusion of thick and fuller hair - and on a side note, it smells pretty great too! For £21.50 a bottle its an undeniably pricey addiction but in my opinion, completely worth the cash drop for volume aspiring flat haired girls.

♡ The Everyday Face #2

October 18, 2013

For days when I'm lacking in creativity, time, or simply energy, I've been reaching for the same handful of products to make sure I'm not mistaken for sporting my Halloween costume early...

As my skin is still the slightest bit tanned I've been using my Jouer Matte Moisture Tint daily for just enough coverage to hide redness and blur imperfections whilst leaving skin looking natural and radiant. I use the Real Techniques buffing brush for a quick and easy flawless finish, perfect for when your a bit short on time. For any blemishes that still need a little more coverage I dab on some of the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer and then use it under my eyes to disguise the tell-tail signs of a late night (reading before bed is lethal).

For a wash of subtle colour and shimmer I've been using the Nars Eyeshadow Duo in Alhambra and finishing off with lashings of mascara. Max Factor's Waterproof False Lash Effect is one of my current favorites, full yet natural looking lashes and a formula that simply does not budge. You've been warned, do not apply without having a heavy duty eye makeup remover on hand!

For a hint of colour the Stial Convertible Colour in Gerbera has been gracing my cheeks daily and i've dug out Mac's Shy Lipstick for a subtle wash of peachy-pink goodness.

Ten minutes in total with minimum brain power required and I'm good to go.
What are your daily staples?

♡ Origins GinZing Energy-Boosting Moisturizer

October 11, 2013

As I've been lusting after this for quite a while now, as soon as my old face creams had been used up I didn't waste any time parting with the cash for my very own little tub of Origins GinZing Energy-boosting moisturizer. I'm already a huge fan of Origins Make a Difference Plus moisturizer and treatment, though as they are so rich I prefer to use them at night. The GinZing moisturizer however, is the perfect consistency to be used in the morning under makeup. Somewhere between a gel and lotion in texture, it's oil-free and lightweight on the skin, whilst still hydrating enough to keep dry patches at bay. With ingredients including Panax Ginseng and Coffee Bean the GinZing moisturizer also promises to revitalize and boost dull skin. Just a small blob of this leaves my skin with a healthy glow, hiding any signs of a late night and creating the perfect base for foundation.

For £23 a pot it's conveniently a little bit more affordable to most of the other Origins moisturizers. I've quickly fallen in love with the stuff, so much so that i'm contemplating adding the accompanying eye cream to my stash!

Are you a fan of Origins Moisturizers?

♡ A Day In Palma

October 07, 2013

At the beginning of September I went on holiday for 10 days to Mallorca with Rich (If you read my blog quite regularly, it's probably safe to say that your aware of this as i'm pretty sure I've mentioned it a few hundred times!) Whilst we spent most days at the beach, floating on lilos and indulging in ice-cream, we did make the effort to visit the capital, and despite the heat and two hours (each way!) bus journey, it was definitely worth it.

Palma is such a beautiful city - we had a lovely time visiting the cathedral and wandering through all the quirky little streets. Some of the buildings are stunning and there's plenty of shops and little cafes around to keeps you occupied for hours! I was a little bit too excited to discover that they had a McDonald's Cafe which resembled a Starbucks/Costa (which surprisingly they don't appear to have in Mallorca) and served the most amazing macaroons...I ended up going back for more!!

If your ever in Mallorca, I would definitely recommend a visit.

Have you ever been to Palma?

♡ September Favorites

October 04, 2013

September has felt like such a long month, probably because I can hardly believe that just over two weeks ago I was sunbathing at the beach in Mallorca. The Autumnal weather we've been experiencing recently makes summer feel like such a long time ago, though as much as letting go of summer is always difficult, I do love Autumn and the build up to Christmas.

1. L'Oreal EverRiche Nourishing and Taming Shampoo and Conditioner
Quite possibly my new favorite Shampoo and Conditioner. They smell amazing and work wonderfully. Since using these my hair has felt so soft and nourished and looked a lot smoother. My conscience has felt a bit better too as they don't contain any sulphates. For only £5.99 a bottle you can't really go wrong.

2. Kiko Stick Eyeshadow in 06
After buying this in Palma whilst on holiday I haven't felt like wearing much else on my eyes. It looks beautiful swiped across the entire lid then blended out with fingers. It's the perfect choice for mornings when I want something fast and simple, yet also long lasting.

3. Nars Laguna Bronzer
So since I went on holiday at the beginning of the month this has been a bit of a life saver. I tend to tan quite quickly when i'm out in the sun but it never lasts long. Rather than buy a whole new shade of foundation that i'll only be able to use for a few weeks i've just been dusting some bronzer over my entire face to even things out a bit. Though Laguna contains a little bit of shimmer it doesn't really translate onto the skin so its perfect for adding a golden glow without looking like a disco ball!

4. Jouer Matte Moisture Tint
When I first purchased this I wasn't too impressed (you can read my initial review here). The shade porcelain, despite being the palest one available was a little to dark for my super pale skin so it ended up looking patchy. Now that my skin is a bit tanned I thought I would give it another go. I've been using it for the past two weeks now and i'm completely in love. It no longer looks at all patchy but melts into my skin creating quite a flawless finish. For a tinted moisturiser its got pretty good coverage, though the lasting power still isn't quite there. With a bit of help from a setting spray and dusting of powder it isn't too bad though. I'm not sure how i'll get on with it once my skin returns to its milky white hue but for now I've been reaching for it daily.

5. Real Techniques Expert Face Brush
I own quite a few RT brushes and love them all so it's no surprise that the expert face brush found it's way into my basket on a resent browse of the boots aisles (blame the 'buy one get one half price' offer!). I've been using this daily to apply cream blush and it makes the whole thing seem so effortless. I'm sure this won't be my last RT purchase!

What have you been loving in September?
