♡ Jouer Matte Moisture Tint

June 28, 2013

I've never been much of a fan of tinted moisturizer, I tend to find it a tad on the 'shiny' side, so when I discovered Jouer's matte moisture tint, I had added it to my online shopping basket within minutes!

I've actually had this moisture tint since March, but I've been so undecided about it that I haven't been sure what to write! I think it's safe to say that this is by no means a bad product, it's just not exactly what I was hoping for. For a tinted moisturizer it has relatively good coverage, still really light but enough to neutralise redness. Despite not being entire matte, the finish is also lovely. It's very natural and radiant, though if you are looking for a true matte finish this probably isn't for you. My main problem with it however, is that I have found that despite looking lovely when first applied, only an hour later it seems to have become patchy and shiny. Even with a setting spray and powder I seem unable to make this product last on my dry/combination skin. The palest shade available (porcelain) is also slightly too dark for my ghost like complexion which probably doesn't help matters either. Maybe when i'm sporting a bit of a tan I might give it another go, but for now it's unfortunately sentenced to a life collecting dust.

The Jouer matte moisture tint is available from Cult Beauty for £29. Have you tried it already? Did it work for you?

♡ Stila Convertible Colour in Gerbera

June 25, 2013

There's been a lot of appearances from cream blush recently on the blog and this is the product that started my little craze with the stuff. Stila's Convertible Colour in Gerbera is a beautiful pink coral cream blush that can be worn on both the cheeks and lips.

I have to admit that my initial attraction to this blush was the beautiful packaging, but luckily the actual product is just as amazing as its casing. Unlike many cream blushes this doesn't actually have a cream to powder finish but remains quite dewy on the skin which is what makes it so natural looking. When blended onto the apples of your cheeks it leaves a gorgeous flush of colour that really warms and brightens your complexion. I also find the shade Gerbera to be really flattering on my skintone, and is the perfect coral for summer. The only downside to this blush is that I've found it a little difficult to apply as I can never seem get just the right amount, though I think this just comes with practice and my difficulty is probably the result of my technique rather than a fault of the product!

Stila's Convertible Colours come in a variety of shades and retail for £16. Will you be trying them or have you given them a go already?

♡ May Favorites

June 03, 2013

Like most of this year so far, May has flown by. I've been discovering so many great products recently that i'm surprised I managed to narrow down my favorites to only 8 items! These are the products that I've been reaching for pretty much everyday and they have quickly become staples in my daily routine.

1. Origins Make A Difference Plus Rejuvenating Moisturizer
I've been using this for just over a month now and I think it's safe to say that this is one of the best moisturizers I've ever used. I have dry/combination skin which means foundation often ends up looking a bit dry and patchy on me, but since I've been using this I've found that my makeup applies much easier and looks natural for a lot longer.

2. Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer
I've been using this to conceal and brighten my under eye area as I find it doesn't crease immediately which is  often the case with many under eye concealers. It's also great for covering any imperfections and blemishes as it's highly pigmented.

3. Kevyn Aucoin The Celestial Powder
This is the perfect everyday subtle highlight. Instead of leaving your cheeks glittery, it creates a lovely natural glow. Full review here

4. Essie Go Ginza Nail Polish
The newest edition to my Essie collection is this pastel lilac shade that is perfect for spring and summer. I've also found that it lasts a little bit longer than some of my other Essie polishes, around 4 days without chipping.

5. Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfectors in 05 Candy Shimmer and 06 Rosewood Shimmer
These seem to be popping up on the blog everywhere. Definitely my favorite lip gloss of all time, and I've been loving the new shades that launched at the End of April, especially candy shimmer. Full review here

6. Stila Convertible Colour in Gerbera
I've fallen in love with everything about this product, from the packaging, to the colour, to the formula. It looks beautiful on both cheeks and lips and is the perfect blush if your looking for something natural and radiant.

7. Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation
I intend to do a full review on this foundation but since it has hardly left my face over the past month I simply had to include it in my favorites too. This is without doubt the best foundation I've tried so far. It hides imperfections without looking at all 'cakey' or unnatural and appears pretty much like skin with a healthy glow that isn't too shiny or matte.

I hope you all had a wonderful month and are excited for summer! Have you tried any of these products? What did you think?
