Nail of the Day

November 23, 2012

I've had Chanel's Peridot nail varnish for around a year now but it's still one of my favorite Autumn/Winter shades. I have a real soft spot for duo-chrome polishes, so the gorgeous gold tone in this one made it irresistible. The formulation is lovely, it's easy to apply and is opaque in two coats. Despite the duo-chrome not translating quite as vividly on the nail as it appears in the bottle, the polish still creates a lovely effect.

For around £18 a bottle it's a pretty expensive purchase, but worth the money if your willing to part with the hard earned cash. Though as this shade has been around for quite a while now, a few dupes have appeared such as Topshop's hidden treasure (with a much more appealing price tag of only £6!).

Autumn in Edinburgh

November 11, 2012

Last week I went to Edinburgh with my mum for a few days over the weekend. I had a great time shopping, sight seeing and visiting family. Edinburgh is an amazing city and the rich autumnal colours only enhanced its beauty.

The weather was surprisingly good for our visit (it only rained once), but it was a lot colder than I expected. My mission every morning quickly became the task of throwing on as many layers as possible under my jumper!

I found this bag in the huuuuge Zara on Princess Street and immediately fell in love. It's big enough to carry everything I need and sits at the perfect height, making it the most comfortable large bag I've ever had.

Pasta and Meatballs for dinner...yum

Edinburgh Castle

Despite having to wait over an hour for tickets (may i point out this involved waiting outside in the cold...brrrr) to get into the castle, it was completely worth it. The castle itself was hauntingly beautiful and the museums and exhibitions inside were fascinating. I only hope to be able to go back soon to explore the city and its history further.
